Brighton Diving 9.8.14

A group of 8 intrepid divers met up in Shoreham by Sea to go for a couple of dives off the coast of Brighton. We met at 8am sharp where we met the skipper of our boat, buccaneer.

The sun was shining and with our dive equipment set up, we roped off and set off down the river Adur. As we left the comfort of the harbour and entered the English channel the ride got a little bumpier. We enjoyed a nice boat trip along the coast past Lancing towards Worthing.

Our first planned dive was a 10m deep wreck called the Indiana. This was perfect for a couple of the team who had never dived in UK seas before. As we got closer to the dive site the ride got steadily bumpier, our skipper Chris popped his head from the cabin and suggested that getting back on the boat after the dive might not be the easiest thing to do for the novice divers. We therefore all agreed that heading back to the jetty was probably the most sensible option. Jeremy decided to feed the fish on the way back while the rest of enjoyed a chocolate biscuit and cup of tea.

The day was not totally wasted we went went to Carats cafe once we returned for a tasty bacon sandwhich with lovely views of the choppy sea. A few of us then went for a walk before going to the pub on the river for a couple of pints. Needless to say that Melvin nomintated Jackie as the driver on the way home.

We will plan another trip out around Brighton towards the end of September or beginning of October.

Thanks to everyone who came.
