PADI Underwater Navigation Course

The PADI Underwater Navigator Course fine-tunes your observation skills and teaches you to more accurately use your compass underwater. You’ll learn to use natural clues to navigate, as well as practicing methods to estimate distance underwater. You learn to properly use a compass to navigate while make multiple turns. Study underwater map making, and become versed in marking or relocating a submerged object or position from the surface. This course is three open water dives which are either conducted in Mercers Lake or Chepstow.
PADI’s eLearning lets you read and watch videos about underwater navigating on your PC, Mac or tablet in preparation for the practical skills.
All equipment hire including compass and dive computer. Dry suit hire is available for qualified divers at an additional fee.

The Skills You Will Learn on Your PADI Underwater Navigation course
In addition to reviewing how to navigate a straight line, you will learn how to:
- Look for clues to help with natural navigation
- Estimate distances using time and fin kick cycles.
- Make use of your compass, while making multiple turns
- Create an underwater map
