Meet Paul Toomer

“I had an amazing experience from start to finish on the ‘Toomer’s Tech Tours’ 2026 trip to Egypt. My aim for the trip was to begin transitioning from Recreational to Technical diving, with onboard training provided by Paul himself.
The instruction from Paul was superb and the environment really made all the difference – rubbing shoulders with high caliber tec divers throughout and gaining the benefit of their shared experience really helped with the shift from rec to tec.
Paul did a superb job in getting me up to standard, despite some personal skills gaps at the beginning of the week – being on a boat and fully embedded in the process was a definite advantage! The facilities were perfect to support this experience, and I leave the trip as a safer, more knowledgeable and more skilful diver. “I have not long returned from the first and hopefully the start of many more Toomer’s Tech Tours ( Red Sea) organised by Oyster Diving.
Firstly I would like to give a massive thank you to Paul for the great laughs and fun along with his amazing professionalism shown during the entire week, watching him work training divers was a pleasure and a breath of fresh air in a industry where training can sometimes be a little inadequate.
On to the trip itself we had just the most amazing time.
This was my first liveaboard and to be honest I was a little apprehensive about how it would be but I can certainly say I couldn’t have had a better experience.
The boat was very comfortable the crew were excellent nothing was too much to trouble and the food was amazing.
We had some amazing tech dives with of course the Thistlegorm being the highlight of the week and to do this dive with Mr Paul Toomer as our guild was mind blowing.
All of us onboard just got on so well everyone was there to help and advise each other and friendships have been made for life.
I would like to thank everyone involved for making this dive trip truly memorable.
