Who Should Take the RAY Powerboat Course?
The RYA powerboat course is designed for individuals operating compact powered vessels like RIBs, dories, and sportsboats, which typically do not engage in extended or offshore journeys.
Common examples of commercial vessels that necessitate this level of certification include charter fishing boats, dive boats, small passenger launches, thrill ride operators, and construction site safety boats.
Course Content and Duration
This is a 2 day course and requires no previous experience.
Gain essential knowledge for independent powerboating at a fundamental level. The course covers launching, mooring, anchoring, and recovery, along with the foundational boat-driving skills necessary for basic proficiency in powerboating.
Location
The course takes place at Mercers Country Park, home to our open water dives.
The lake is easy to reach from London, Surrey and Brighton areas.
