Lundy island which, in 1986, was made a statutory marine nature reserve lies at the mouth of the Bristol Channel where the cool, clear, oceanic waters from the Gulf Stream mix with the clear, but warmer, waters from the Caribbean.

We have chartered a spacious boat with room for 11 divers to kit up at once, with ample space to store all the diving gear. The 20 mile passage to the Island takes about 1 hour, so sit back and watch out for the dolphins, porpoises and seals.
There are over 40 dive sites around Lundy island with a mix of wrecks, reefs, drop offs, and pinnacles. The highlight is to dive with the seals which are extremely friendly and often referred to as the ‘puppy’s of the sea’.

Safety – The weather around Lundy can change quickly, so all divers should be a minimum of Advanced open water with a minimum of 15 dives. You must carry your own SMB and know how to use it. We would be happy to offer advice on SMB’s and we can provide a PADI specialty course on how to use it.

The health & safety of our customers is of paramount importance to us. To this end, all crew are professional, fully trained and skilled. If you need help or advice, they will be only too happy to help and offer advice.

We have reserved rooms at the Brittiania Hotel in Ilfracombe which is directly opposite the jetty where the dive boat departs. We’ll meet you in Ilfracombe on Friday night, the boat will depart early on Saturday and Sunday morning to maximise our dive time.

Price includes transfers to/from Lundy by boat, 2 days boat diving, 2 nights at the Britannia hotel (Friday and Saturday) in a shared room and tank + Weight hire. Does not include other equipment hire including SMB’s, dry suits and computers – please visit our shop if you would like to purchase these items.

“Just thought I’d drop a quick line to say I really enjoyed going away with Oyster to Lundy. Great bunch of people to dive with, for my first experience of diving in UK waters…. Thanks a lot again for a great w’end I don’ t think it’ll be my last trip with Oyster. Regards, Dermot” September 2015
