Basking Shark Dives Porthkerris Cornwall 2014

In a little over 2 weeks we will be embarking one of our favourite UK trips of the year. We will be heading down to the lovely village of Porthkerris in Cornwall where we have booked 2 nights’ accommodation in the local cottage.

On the 1st June we will be doing our first dive aboard the Celtic Cat where the local dive sites often have visibility in excess of 10m. Recently there have been quite a few sightings of Dolphins so everyones fingers will be crossed. Then with a bit more luck we might even spot a Basking Shark or even two.

These magnificent creates are the second largest fish species in the world and they are often in excess of 8m. They are not in the slightest bit scary, as the thing that brings them to Cornwall at this time of year is the tiny plankton they eat.

We will then be doing two more dives from Porthkerris in the morning before we make our way back home. So far we have people coming from London, Brighton, Oxford, Surrey and Berkshire.
