Itinerary

Day 1 :

Malta

Maltaā€™s warm water, reefs, caves and wreck diving are suited to all levels of experience.

The calmness and clarity of the sea makes for excellent visibility and creates impressive conditions for first time divers and beginners and for the more experienced diver there are plenty of challengingĀ divesĀ to choose from.

On most days theĀ  clear blue Mediterranean sea is ideal for scuba divingĀ  with coves, beaches and wrecks to be found on the coastlines of the island and on those rare days when the conditions arenā€™t ideal, we usually visit Valleta and dive within the shelter of the two harbours where the wrecks of HMS Maori and the X127 can be found.Ā  It has to be said, there is always somewhere to dive around Malta!

Gozo

Along with the rest of the archipelago Gozo has been described as having some of the best diving in Europe.

There are many and varied caves, reefs, tunnels and wrecks to explore and, of course, an abundance of marine life making Gozo a fantastic destination for both marine photographers and leisure divers alike.

Paradise Diving School is located in the very north of the Maltese island making the southern dive sites of Gozo only a fifteen minute boat trip from the school ā€“ weather permitting!Ā  Comino is even closer.Ā  Between the months of May and October most of our diving is done from the boat with exception of some of the more distant dive sites which are visited using our transport and the ferry.Ā  Itā€™s a plus that the ferry terminal is just a two minute drive from the dive centre.

Comino

We have dives suitable for every level of experience

Comino is a small island situated between the north shore of Malta and Gozo and is only accessible by boat.Ā  It is very popular with tourists.Ā  TheĀ main attractionĀ  on the island is the Blue Lagoon.Ā  In summer this sheltered inlet of crystal clear water over white sand gets quite busy with day trippers but donā€™t let that put you off!

Comino also boasts many dive sites including the Santa Maria caves and the wreck of the P31.Ā Comino is only a 10 minute boat trip from the Paradise Diving centre and we visit on a regular basis throughout the summer months.Ā  The number and variety of dive sites makes it ideal for all levels of experience.

Wrecks

The Maltese islands are a wreck divers paradise that caters for all levels of divers,

The position of Malta in the Mediterranean Sea, has led to a heavy ship traffic since early ages. While Malta remained neutral during WWI, the island heldĀ a vital role in the second world war. Hence many of Maltaā€™s historic shipwrecks are related to this period of modern history.

The tourism authority of Malta have also played their part today, now there are many wrecks that have been scuttled purposely to create artificial reefs , The Maltese islands are a wreck divers paradise that caters for all levels of divers, from recreational to Technical divers. With shipwrecks all around the island, it allows diving any day of the year as there is always one shore that is protected from the winds.

Amongst the shipwrecks sunk on purpose for dive tourism, some make exceptional dives. Here is a selection of dive sites not to be missed with incredible underwater photography opportunities
